Paper Trail is the sixth studio album by rapper T.I. scheduled to be released on September 30, 2008.[1][2]The album was scheduled to be released on August 12, 2008, then September 2, successively on September 9 but it was finally pushed back to September 30, 2008. T.I. had been working on the new studio album while under house arrest on pending gun charges.[3][4] The album's title, Paper Trail, comes from T.I.'s decision to write down lyrics on paper for this album. According to the rapper's representative, it is the first time that T.I. wrote lyrics on paper since his debut album I'm Serious.[5]The first promo single off of the album, No Matter What, was released on StreetCred.com, Tuesday, April 29. The music video was released on June 27 on MTV's FN Premieres. The second promo single is "Swing Ya Rag" which is produced and featuring Swizz Beats.[7] The first main single off the album "Whatever You Like", was released on July 29, and became his most successful single of his career so far, breaking the record for the highest jump to number one on Billboard's Hot 100, jumping from #71 to #1. It is T.I.'s first solo number one on the chart.
